Positive Movement Alliance has arrived!

Hayward, CA – September 2, 2009 – The Positive Movement Alliance (PMA) is not an apparel
company, a skateboard company, or an art company. It is all three wrapped into one universal
lifestyle brand targeted toward the “new urban” aficionado who understands that all things are
connected; culture influences art and conflict eventually lends itself to compromise.

In 2008, Greg Carroll, Courtney Smith and Chase Tafoya conceived PMA to bring you: the
consumer, creator, student, teacher, artist, dreamer and believer a “new urban” movement.
These three young men discovered they had something in common; they were all looking for
an opportunity to make a lasting impact in the urban crossover market place. They decided to
put their individual talents together and use them to change the way people perceive activism.
PMA gives the community more than T-shirts, skateboards and art pieces. Its goal is to prove
to the masses that generations X and Y are ready to have their voices heard.

PMA is a collaboration of art, music, skateboarding, apparel, activism and philanthropic actions.
It’s a company that encourages consumers to take charge of change by creatively engaging their communities.
With collective decades of experience and knowledge in the afore mentioned industries, PMA’s
creators are dedicated to implementing a movement that uses common elements of the “new
urban” culture to encourage positivity.

Every product produced by PMA, from apparel to skateboarding equipment and paintings have
a strong social, political or cultural message. Activism is a large part of PMA’s landscape,
therefore 3% of the net revenue of each item sold will be donated to various charities and
foundations attached to each PMA series.

the Quiroz brothers are back

Hayward born, Eduardo and Jose Quiroz are at it again. The two brothers are back writing / directing / acting in another bay area masterpiece, I Got Five on it Too. The film is shot all in the bay and is loosely tied to their 2004 success, I Got Five on it; both films star Todd Bridges of Diff’rent Strokes fame. Jose Rosete also stars as Oscar the storyteller and Chris Angelo steals many a scene with his umbrella toting, street hustling, Barney Bumble. Complete with bay area slang and throwback jerseys, this is definitely one movie that will have you reminiscing about the yay in no time.

“I Got Five On It Too” continues the hilarious adventures of Barney Bumble and the gang and their “high times.” As the guys plan a house party complete with liquor, girls and weed, their “best bud” Barney Bumble gets set-up by his new rival Larry Poppins and gets busted by the cops for selling marijuana, Jimmy, Oscar and Arnie have to come to the rescue and get some payback against the new neighborhood drug dealer who’s been trying to move in on Barney’s turf.

personal hotspot.

so i was kinda debating on getting a mobile wifi card. then i came across this personal mobile wifi router. it’s kinda sick, it supports up to 5 wifi devices, doesn’t require any wires, not even for configuration, and it looks clean. simple and unassuming, but the if you care about peripheral’s that match an ongoing design aesthetic, i imagine a few people would appreciate this matching a macbook/pro or any similarly designed pc notebook. (verizon has the same personal hotspot in a black finish. if mobile coverage is second to design for you, you may want to peep that option.)

but yeah. i can see a device like this improving many a mobile office space.

travel design.

wander bug, wander lust… it seems like while some people are laid off, in between jobs, just outta school, or on some “finding myself” path, traveling is a way to occupy some time now that people have it.

and while seeing new places, being out, and exploring is the goal… having a nice spot to return to while away from home  makes your vacation a lot more memorable.

enter tablethotels.com. they are a website that specializes in luxury and boutique hotels in various locations of interest. kinda like orbitz, except instead of looking for deals, they are looking for “cool.”

“cool.” that term often implies $$$$. but looking on tablethotels.com ive come across some definitely interesting spots for as low as 69.00 a night

http://www.tablethotels.com/Hotel-Vitale/San-Francisco-Hotels-California-USA/57819

that definitely comes in handy if you just want a weekend away with the S.O.

if interesting hotels are on your list of plusses during a vacation, you might wanna bookmark tablethotels.com

Zion I Sporting Our Bike Tee

A friend of ours recently discovered this Youtube video showing Zumbi from Zion I sporting one of our tees. The video features interviews with Zion I as well as live footage from their recent Takeover tour. The short clip has definitely been one of the highlights of our typically quiet days here at the offices-well that and of course lunch. But even more so since Zion I is one the Bay’s most respected Hip Hop groups! Thanks for the love.
