Randy Johnson looks for career victory mark

“The one thing that keeps me going is [that] I’m never content with anything… If I was to retire today, I’d like to think this was my best year. But I’d like to think [that] with hard work and determination, I could get better in certain categories.” -Randy Johnson

The Giants take on Kenshin Kawakami and the Atlanta Braves tonight looking for their first series sweep of the Braves since 2003.  But the bigger story both literally and figuratively is Randy Johnson, going for win number 299.  The 6′10″ giant of the Giants is closing in on a historical 300 win career mark.  Only 23 men are members of this club and the 45 year old Johnson hopes to join Tom Glavine as the only active members.  Chronic back injuries left the chances for the Walnut Creek born pitcher to reach the success in doubt, but today he stands with the achievement in reach.  After his matchup with the Braves today, Johnson is scheduled to pitch against the Nationals in Washington and against the Diamondbacks in a return to Arizona.

little dragon.

went to the little dragon show at the independent on weds the 20th. despite only knowing like 3 of their songs, i was pretty suprised. not that i thought it would be a bad show… but it was kinda harder than i expected from this electronic-soul-rock band from sweden.

yukimi nagano (their lead singer) is mad cute. if you can, catch em live. you will agree that her lip curling and side of the mouth singing is strangely super attractive.
sorry but i only had my phone to take pics:

james brown and clive owen rollin in a bimmer.

when bmw rolled out their “Transporter-esque” series of commercials, i was an underground hip hop backpacker with a bart card and a hiero sticker on his skateboard… yeah, you know the type. and despite my “fuck the mainstream commercial bullshit” mentality… i had to give it up to the White Propeller on a Blue Sky for their series of commercials that were more like mini movies, both in budget and all star cast/directors.

2009 NBA Draft Results are in…

.. New York City!

Making your way in the world today takes everything you’ve got.
Taking a break from all your worries, sure would help a lot.

Wouldn’t you like to get away?

Sometimes you want to go

Where everybody knows your name,
and they’re always glad you came.
You wanna be where you can see,
our troubles are all the same
You wanna be where everybody knows
Your name.
